Introduction to tack and saddlery

Split into three units, this course outlines the parts of the tack, looks at ancillary items such as martingales, discusses how to put on and fit your tack correctly, and finishes with an indepth look at caring for your tack. Backed up with original worksheets to re-inforce learning, as well as some unique videos, you will be assessed by tutor marked assignments and an online quiz. On successful completion you will also be able to download a certificate.
A simple and straightforward method of learning the basics of tack and saddlery, this course is packed full of useful information that will stand you in good stead for caring after your horse better. This is also essential learning for anyone looking to take industry examinations.

Introduction to tack and saddlery is broken down into 3 units:
- Parts of the tack
- Tacking up and fitting of tack
- Care of tack
For successful completion of intorduction to tack and saddlery students must pass the assessment. There is a written assessment on each unit, all of which need to be submitted to your instructor. You can not move onto the next unit until you have submitted your assignment and it has been marked.
At the end of the course you will also undertake an online quiz, which consists of a mixture of different styles of questions such as mulitple choice, true or false and short answer questions. These questions are all based on the course content. The pass rate is 75% and the quiz is automatically marked.
You can find out your results under your profile under the stats button, and if you have passed you can access your certificate here as well.
No previous knowledge is required, and no additional reading is necessary, although extra-curriculum research is always encouraged.
